This weekend I tried Artec smoothing shampoo & conditioner. WOW!! They were great. My hair was very shiny and smooth, and without blowdrying at all, it was super straight. I used my other usual products along with it, Aveda Elixir and styling curresence. This morning I tried Aubrey Organics Desert Shampoo and GPB conditioner. I don't know the full results yet, as I have not brushed it out yet. But, so far, it looks pretty good.Question: Does Artec contain any silicones? I just wonder how it got my hair so noticably smooth.

Hi Clare!I review hair care products for their effectiveness and safety for very curly, very thick and textured (Ethnic) hair. I wanted to respond to your question about the smoothness. I spoke with Arlene Benza over at Artec and she gave me some info that I can pass on to you. Artec's Smoothing Shampoo contains Datem. Datem is a natural ingredient used as a leavening agent for bread. Datem's unique smoothing quality was discovered when dough-makers noticed that their hands were left very smooth and hydrated after mixing dough. Datem, an edible material, is made from soybean oil, safflower oil, tartaric (from fruit) and glycerin (from beet sugar).Nice to know that you got good results from the smoothing shampoo!Sunyatta

Thanks for the replies about Artec. About the Aubrey Organics products, my hair is not as smooth as with Artec, but still feels quite healthy, nourished, and not dry at all.Clare> This weekend I tried Artec smoothing shampoo &> conditioner.
