By that I mean, a very loose one. Alternate your hair styles as far as wearing it down, as your husband likes. You might also use some combs within your hair as an alternative. Since your husband likes your hair down, have you thought about taking the front part of your hair on each side and gently encircling to the back? That is, use your hair as the tie.
