My hair is dry and damaged from too much coloring butit's also fine and since I have a lot of it too much conditioning weighs it down (the top mostly looks flat). Also when I use both a moisurizing shampoo and conditioner it ends up flat. I'm wondering if it's better to use a volumizing shampoo and heavy conditioner or conditioning shampoo and volumizing or light conditioner and then use a leave-in on the really dry parts.

I have had great success with "Bumble & Bumble Thickening Shampoo" and "Graham Webb Infusion Thickening Conditioner for fine hair." I just discovered the Graham Webb and it is amazing. Good Luck.Don3

Shampoo can be drying so this is probably a good thing for you to try. I then only condition my hair from the nape of my neck down, the oils from your scalp will condition the top part by themselves. If your hair is damaged above this it may not work as well. but you could just smooth the conditioner over the top. Don't work it in though, getting conditioner to near the roots is what makes hair flat.LOL, Shannon G.
