Hi! I'd like to lighten some of my hair without buying any products from the store, and I heard that if you put lemon juice on the hair you want to lighten before you go outside into the sunshine, it will bleach it some. I've also heard that doing this is very bad for your hair. Is there something I can mix with the lemon juice to make it more safe? My hair is fine, but thick, and light brown with some blonde streaks already. Any suggestions??

Dont stay in the sun to long because the lemon juice is like a bleach. And your hair is very fine so its more fragile. Your hair is already on the lighter side so the highlights will come up very fast. I dont want to scare you but Ive seen disasters where the hair turns green! So please be aware. Also make sure to condition after because your hair may dry out. Good luck, Diane
