What type of laminating serum do you use? It sounds like a good product for curly hair, but I'm not sure I've ever seen it. Is it a pomade? Doesn't sound like one. Sounds like a highly concentrated gel. Whatever it is I would appreciate your advice.
Hi Renee,I am not very sure which post you are referring to, as I have been testing a lot of products out over the last couple of weeks. I will tell you though what has recently really been pumping up my curls-- I wash with ARTec Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner (I was using Biolage but it started making my hair feel very dry). Once I'm out of the shower, I apply a pea sized amount of the Smoothing Conditioner to my hair (this is my leave- in). Next I use a dime size amount of ARTec Shine and Frizz repair (this is my laminating serum, although I also have used Citre Shine Shine Miracle-- both are the clear laminating serums, except that the Citre SHine is a bit thicker). After the serum, I apply Biolage Gelee. Then I diffuse dry. Any stray pieces, I define with a 1" barrell curling iron. That is my entire routine (for now anyway:) I have used the ARTec Snoothing Serum in the past, but it was too heavy for my hair, and I didn't care for the smell. Other than the shine and frizz repair, I have been using Citre Shine all of my life. I hope that this answered your question. If it didn't maybe you could refresh my memory as to which post you are alluding to. I hope that I was of some help.Sherry~). > What type of laminating serum do you use? > Thank you. You answered my question perfectly. In fact, I emailed WWBeauty Store recently to find out if they carry Frizz and Shine Repair. I also have the ARTec smoothing shampoo, but switched to the Moisture Pak (my hair is thick and coarse, as well as curly). I had the same experience with Biolage (Hydrating shampoo and Conditioning Balm). It just didn't have enough moisture for my hair. The Gelee is good, but doesn't have enough hold for me. Right now I'm happy with Paul Mitchell Scuplting Foam (it has the conditioner and mousse in it so I don't have to use a leave in) and use the Super Scuplt for problem areas. I am always looking for new products, though. Thank you for the input, it is always appreciated.Hi Renee,> I am not very sure which post you are referring to, as> I have been testing a lot of products out over the> last couple of weeks. Hi Renee,The ARTec Shine and Frizz repair is a great product-- it's a little pricey, but I like it 'cause it is light and the smell is wonderful (I real big on scents). Yes, Biolage just wasn't cutting it after about a week-- which REALLY dissapointed me, because I REALLY raved about it over at Naturally Curly. My hair just began to feel dry, however, I went and looked at the ingredients in the 'Tonic' and I think that it may have been that which was causing the 'dry out'. Although, I did recently read in 'Don't Go Shopping for Haircare products without Me," that both the Biolage products were meant for normal to dry hair-- well I am DAMAGED, so maybe that is why some curlies like the stuff (as long as they aren't too course or damaged). It is nice and light, but I guess I prefer something with a bit more substance. I DO like the Gelee though, but lots of other Gels are good too. Ah, I have a conglomeration of stuff in my closet :) Lines that I do like are: ARTec Smoothing (I lOVE the moisture pac too, it's the BEST deep conditioner I have EVER used), Paul Brown, Biolage (for an occasional trade off) and my little weakness, Herbel Essences (I am SOOO addicted to the smell). I'm glad that I could help a fellow curly head here at the Hairboutique. Thanks for all of your inquiries, it makes me feel like I don't experiment with all these products for nothing :) Take Care,Many regards,Sherry~

> I don't know how heavy a conditioner you might use, but I've found Redkens All Soft Masque to be great for me-I haven't tried their regular conditioner. I have to warn you, it is very heavy. There is an Aveda product, I think it's called Revitalizing Conditioner, anyway, the All Soft is almost comparable, and the price is good for such a heavy product. It seems like your hair may not be as heavy as mine, so beware some of the things I use. They can weigh your hair down!Hi Renee,> The ARTec Shine and Frizz repair is a great product--> it's a little pricey, but I like it 'cause it is light> and the smell is wonderful (I real big on scents).> Yes, Biolage just wasn't cutting it after about a> week-- which REALLY dissapointed me, because I REALLY> raved about it over at Naturally Curly. Renee,Thanks for the advice, however, I have already tried both. The Aveda was actually the first Aveda product that I ever bought (like 6 years ago), and unfortunately, I don't use it much anymore. The All Soft Masque was a bit to heavy for me and I gave the entire line to my mom, who has course short 'Italian' hair. Thanks for the suggestions though :)Sher~
