What's everyone's favorite and cheap shampoo and/or conditioner that doesn't contain sodium lauryl sulfate? I'd also like opinions on the Body Shop hair products if anyone has used them. Thanks. :)

Cortexx conditioner is very good for the price.

sorry about the blank posting....ok.... i agree with JM, I found the Cortexx conditioner to be quite good (but i didn't care for the shampoo). other inexpensive products that i have found work well include products from St. Ives and Freeman.Re: the Body Shop shampoos - I have used a number of them (grapefruit, banana, brazil nut, tangerine beer, etc...)they have lovely scents, but i find they are not worth the expense.good luck!JJ

Thanks. :)My favorite shampoo is actually one of the cheapest, most bottom shelf shampoos there is....Suave (I use the balsam/protein type usually, but sometimes the aloe variety, as well)...no sodium lauryl sulfate (although it does have Ammonium lauryl sulfate and Ammonium laureth sulfate, which I suspect are just variations on the theme), but more important (to me)...I'm not allergic to their fragrance, which is not the case for about 90% of the shampoos on the market.I've used the St. Ives shampoos and conditioners and I found that they left my hair feeling dry and brittle and I tended to loose a lot hair.

Hi there. I don't really have a favorite inexpensive shampoo, but I have started using Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner and I like it a lot. Because my hair is fine with dry ends, it's hard for me to find a balanced, moisturizing conditioner that won't weigh down my hair and make the waves go limp. Aussie seems to work pretty well.I have also started using Nature's Gate Chamomile shampoo and conditioner, which smells great, but I find the conditioner isn't quite thick enough for my hair (which is why I have almost half a bottle of shampoo, but no conditioner left). I think next I'll give the jojoba a try.Good topic, by the way.Kim

The citre shine products work wonders for being an over the counter product! and for the body works - works better as a body wash!

I like VOFine Regular Shampoo. I have fine hair and it really helps me hold a style with body.
