Alright, here's my situation. I'm a college girl and I'm so sick of all my bad hair days. I have brown, wavy and somewhat thick hair. The length reaches my collarbone. My last haircut was 13 weeks ago and I had some layers cut near the ends. Unfortunately, they didn't help enough with the heaviness around my face. That's my "mane" ;) problem. I've always looked the same for over 10 years and I know it's time for a change. I don't like long hair so my ideal styles range from shoulder length and up. I want a easy to care for, cute style. A lot of people talk a bout bobs on the net but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't suit me. Therefore, can anyone please suggest some styles that will take the heaviness off of my face, and please provide me with directions to explain to my hairdresser. If you were a hairdresser, what style would you choose?

You also think it's time for a change. So why don't go for a short hairdo? I think you should go for a "pixie". Ypu're wavy hair is much more curlier when it's shorter. So you'll get lots of volume and it's very easy to take care of. It's up to you to take the final step and go for it!Good luck, Helen

I've alwaysCoop here: I just cut your hair today! or was it someone with the same problem? Anyway...I gave her a short shag, Long top( to her cheek bone) and razor textured the H E double tooth picks out of it! Looked great! took lots of the weight out of it and gave her really soft edges, She smiled at me! makes a hair dudes day.

If you want a wash and wear style and have a pretty face and are petite, and ears that are close to the sides of your head go for a short razored crop cut, the natural wave in your hair will make it look great. If you are a little more conservative and maybe don't have perfect features, opt for a mid length bob with more layers ala 'Kelly Mcgillis in Top Gun', still wash and wear but not so short, or the classic shag for still yet a middle of the road 'do.william
