I have hair that is a little longer then bra length, and I'm still trying to let it grow longer. It's all one length in the back with some layers in the front around my face, It's a medium/fine texture and wavy. I take good care of it, so there's no damage. But I need a style for it, it just hangs there. I either part it on the side or put it in a pony tail, those are the only 2 styles I wear. The only way I really like to wear it is if I put through a straighting balm and blow dry it smooth with a brush for 20 minutes. I hate to keep blow drying it like this because I'm, afraid it's going to get damaged. I'm currently using Citre' Shine straighting balm, and it's working really well to smooth out my hair. Is there something I can put in it to really protect it and prevent heat damage, or a way I can straighten it without any heat or chemicals? I've heard that KMS Flat out straighting blam can straighten hair without a blowdryer. Has anyone tried it with good results?
Just make sure you deep condition regularly and use a leave-in conditioning spray before you blow dry. No matter what, blowing it straight will damage it. I limit mine to once a week. I have almost exactly like yours. Whenever I start "hating" my hair, I blow it straight and then wonder why I even thought of cutting it!Related Link:hair accessories at indulge.com
I have very curly hair and I have used the KMS Flat out with pretty good results. The Hair Boutique has a lot of good information about curly hair and one of the things that is mentioned is that curly hair is more fragile than other textures. So be sure to always do periodic deep conditioning. Also, a great site for information is Ouidad. The Hair Boutique also has a curly hair section that you may like to look into. I have included the URL to the curly hair. You should also read some of Sherry's curly hair reviews. She is the current curly hair contributor for Hair Boutique & has written some great curly hair product reviews.Glad to hear that the Citre Shine is working for you.J> I have hair that is a little longer then bra length,> and I'm still trying to let it grow longer. My hairstylist has intensely curly hair. Her name is Shelley Pryor and she also specializes in long hair. She uses Aveda Elixer as a leavein conditioner when she blow dries her hair smooth. Her hair is gorgeous. She also tells me that she has great luck with Aveda's Blue Malva shampoo and Cherry Almond Bark conditioner.Hope that helps.Best wishes,KarenPS.
