QuoteReplyTopic: HELP! Platinum Blonde Posted: April 25 2004 at 12:58pm
Hello. a freaked out woman named TJ here! It is Sunday, and just this last Friday I went to my salon and had them "Make me really blonde". UGH!!!! I am a natural blonde, but my hair has gotten a bit darker over the years since I am in Alaska and not in the sun that much. For someone else, this hair color would be ok, but on me, I look like trailer trash from the Jerry Springer show.
I look platinum, I think the hairdresser even called my color that (she thought it looked great) I am so wanting gto run to wal mart and get a "Color Fix" but I am unsure about a couple of things, #1 can I color again so soon? and #2 what color is recommended to turn platinum blonde back to a light natural blonde or ash blonde (even light brown at this point), oh, I need to also tell you all that she also pulled strands through a cap and highlighted my hair, because she said she never likes just that all over color, hope this info helps you to help me!!!
Thanks for ANY advise, please help as I am a radio personality and I am in the public eye and this hair salon is one of my clients so I do not want to go back there for a fix, plus I really cannot afford it!
Thanks again for any help! TJ

Hi TJ, this is kinda ironic, coz i know a lot of women who would kill to have such a problem. Platinum is very fashionable where i live.
anyway, if you really hate it, which it sounds like u do, i agree just go back and tell them your not happy,. She will probably fix it for free. Most likely she will put 'lowlights' in it, which is the opposite of highlights, that is - some dark streaks.
Or else she could put a semipermanent toner on it to bring it down a bit all over, maybe a champagne or an ash blonde toner.
if you wanted to stay platinum, you would probably have to soften all your makeup palette up, wear lighter colours, and generally wear lighter makeup. (plus maybe pluck your brows a bit or a bit more). That might be whats giving you the jerry springer look?
anyhow, i would jump up and down and demand it gets fixed for free by the woman who wrecked it, however that's just me :) and may not be right for who you are!!
