Hairalways, I don't think anyone has ever more clearly put into words, my own feelings on the bob. Imo, you hit the nail right on the head. I too think bobs are very hard to pull off, and agree that the end result is either very matronly(blah to the extreme), or sometimes quite cute on the right woman. I think way too many hairdressers have pushed women in this, the wrong direction. Anyway, love the color, hate the cut. I think a bit of a change on Sherry might have been nice, but I would have gone with some light layers, perhaps with a long fringe. This just looks terribly dated to me.

It sure looks better than the long hiar pic. Though, some bangs (fringe) and layered ends would look better. A little shorter in the back would help update the look also.
I think it's an improvement... I'm a fan of the show and I didn't like the longer hair on her. I saw her on the most recent episode and she looked quite stylish. I think it was shorter than in these pics though.
When she first returned to "ER," she had her hair in a short crop. I think this bob is better on her than the very short hair or the below the shoulders cut.
Sherry has always seemed to me a prime example of a very pretty woman whose hair has never quite done her justice. It seems to vacillate between long, straight, and blah (usually pulled up) and short, straight, and blah, like this cut, which I agree isn't flattering at all, especially with her somewhat round face shape.
She had a GREAT short layered trendy cut when she returned to ER's cast but immediately grew it out. I think she should go back to something like that. This cut does look matronly, and I think getting rid of some of the weight of the bob would make her look much younger.
After she got the bob, she cut it a little shorter in back into a slight a-line. It looked better than the bob under her chin. Now, she appears to have cut the front about a half inch to an inch shorter, so that the bob is even above her chin. I liked the a-line better.
