I am 18 years old and I have very weak hair. When I was about 7 or 9, my beautician once left my perm on for almost an hour and it really damaged my hair. Ever since then, my hair has been very weak and I have had problems with broken spots, split ends, and shedding. I have had to have it cut multiple times to try and get it growing again. This past summer, my hair started doing very well and growing again, yet ever since I started college in the fall, it has started breaking again. Since December, it has gotten worse and I now have very thin spots on the sides near my ears and my hair is shedding more. It is not noticeable, but I don't want my hair to keep breaking until it is! I get a perm regularly and wash it every week.

I think that one reason it may be breaking is stress because it seems only to start shedding bad when I am in school and very busy. But I don't know it has gotten worse.

Has anyone has this problem? Can anyone give me any advice on a hair product or something that can make my hair stronger and start growing back? I would really appreciate it!

hi you might want to try protein treatments followed by a moisturizing treatment. you might also want to stop relaxing or at least space them out more. check out http://www.longhaircareforum.com

Try deep conditioning your hair once a week, it works very well for me. Also When you deep condition use a protien conditioner like Organic Root stimulater's hair maynoise, and also use a moisture filled deep conditioner, such as Deep brillian Moisture. Get a hooded drier so you can deep condition

Take biotin it helps hair to grow in thicker and healthier. Also i hear MSM works very well, you may also want to try hair, nail, and skin vitamins (i'm gettin on this program soon.) Also i read that hear grows most between the ages or 15-30 so dont worry girl it will be okay. my email is dknychik385@hotmail.com email me sometime i'd love to talk to you!

A few months ago i had a weave that broke off about 3 inches of the back of my hair and also my hair was very dry and brittle, using the Manage, Reflect, and Hydration Shampoo really got my hair into shape, then a few months after it got better a hair stylist burned 6 inches of my left side and really damaged it from blow drying it wrong. I'm tryin to grow out my hair and trim it as it grows to get the other 4 1/2 inches of damage out. So far though deep conditioning once a week has made a huge impact on how it looks. The healthy side is gorgoeous and the damaged side looks a lot better. I kinda know what youre goin through, in order not to let bad things happen to our hair anymore we have to be educated on the proper way to take care of permed afro-hair, so that we can speak up when we see they are or might do something wrong. Ive been researching for a while so email me if you have questions!! :)

You should find an outlet for your stress whether it's social, sporty, or reading affirmations or self help books. I've experienced the same thing THREE times in four years always at the most excruciating times in my life. Or you should run to a dermatologist and/or general practitioner to be certain you don't have an illness, infection, etc. Also, you may not be getting enough rest. It is sooo crucial you get all eight hours of sleep in a completely tranquil environment. If it means you have to move don't hesitate because this is a strong warning sign about your health. And partying is great just don't overdo it. Good Luck.

hihi
i thinx u should stop pering her hair and put some aussie conditioner on and leave it on there for a long time
then keep repeating it
after u wash it put oil in your hair to moisturize it. don't use jell or stuff like that b/c it dries out your hair
...:::curly hair:::...
