I've noticed people on the board discussing a product by John Fireda called extend-a-perm. I would like to know what stores I can find it in, and if his frizz-ease relax product line is the same thing. He has another product called "Texture Correcting Serum"...has anyone tried it? If so, does it work well?
I love the Texturizing Correcting Serum. I don't know about the product you named in your post, but the other products in this line, the serum, the daily Replenisher, Deep Moisture Balm, and the Ripple Effect are good. The Shampoo and Conditioner will soften the new growth in your hair between relaxers, but there a lot of other conditioners that will do the same. I use the serum to smooth my hair after flat ironing and I use a dab a little each day followed by the moisturizer. I use a Clarifying shampoo at least once a month, then deep condition my hair. This past summer I used the serum with the Ripple lotion and really loved the effect. But you have to practice this to get the look you want. It also requires touching it up each day with a little dampening and you should shampoo at least twice a week otherwise you get build up. As I said, I like his products. And if you get the serum, don't be afraid to use a small amount of some kind of hairdressing/pomade if you think you want more shine. But only just a bit. HTH
I think I was talking about John Frieda it's not Extend-a-perm that's a totally different thing. I think it's called John Frieda moisturizing balm or something the person who replied before me named it, it's a balm. The balm says that it helps to blend new growth.

It's called Moisture Remedy. It works best w/heat. Put it on your edges and use a blow dryer or other heating implement to smooth. I use this when I'm close to getting a touch-up. My hair is very coarse and it tends to snap when I'm in need of a relaxer. It does soften new growth. The whole line is designed around Relaxed Hair. The conditioner is also good when your hair is in need of touching up. I prefer to use it in addition to a deep conditioner, more like a cream rinse at the very end to smooth the hair from tangles, then rinse out. The Daily Replenisher is also good. I use this every day after a small amount of the serum. And because I like more shine, I finish with a small amount of my favorite hairdressing. Don't do this if you want to stay away from a greasy effect.

I use JF Relax Total Clarity Shampoo, Fortifying Conditioner, Moisture Remedy Rehydrating Balm, Texture Correcting Serum and Daily Replenisher, and I love them all. The Moisture Remedy Balm is excellent at smoothing new growth as well as moisturizing the scalp, and it gives the hair a wonderful, healthy sheen. Unfortunately, the JF Relax line is being discontinued, so if you use these products, stock up quickly!

OH NO! I don't know what I will do without the serum. I'm going to the site and email them and tell them what a mistake they are making. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!
Yes it's true. The line has been discontinued. I went out and bought 2 serums and I intend to buy more plus the Ripple Effect and the Replinisher. This is going to be mega expensive. All you Relax fans email them consumer@johnfrieda.com. Tell them you love the product and they are making a mistake. I once mounted a campaign about a Celestial Seasonings tea that was being discontinued and the company changed their mind. You have nothing to lose.

Has anyone every tried the Soft & Beautiful extend-a-perm? I'm curious about the results even if it works more like a good deep conditoner than a perm extender.
