Has anyone tried installing synth with exentubes using this method:

http://www.drlocks.net/linkiesbulk/index.htm

It appears they are not pretipping the strand, but instead looping it.  I am wondering if it would still shed.  I know synth doesn't have the same issues as hh with expanding and contracting and thus slipping out through the links, and I am trying to avoid dealing with pretipping if I can help it.  That is the reason I wear pinchbraids but i am looking for other options.  Thanks!

Yeah, I've done it a few times- only for streaks, not full heads. It seems to hold just fine.

So then why bother with pretipping??  Has anyone even tried a full head?

I've done it with shrinkies and it works like a charm. The bottom portion of the loop HAS to get all the way in the ring or shrinkie or else it will shed out the bottom.

I haven't done a full head because:

#1: I'm a DIY and it would pose an enormous challenge to do the back.

#2: I like to wear my hair 22-24" and I've yet to find a good quality hair that I can spare the length to do the loop.

'Cause rings/tubes with tips goes faster. Working the latch-hook (microneedle) takes a second or two, and with bulk you have to do it twice (once to pull through the real hair, once to pull in the synth) whereas with a tip you just poke it in.
