QuoteReplyTopic: Care and keeping of a Baor Bristle Brush? Posted: April 02 2005 at 3:40pm
So, I finally bought a boar bristle brush and i love it. How do I clean it? I have found a lot of loose hair in there and I wanted to know if water will damage it or if you had any special cleaning techniques?
Thanks in advance!
LOL, Don't let the wet dog smell scare you! You can clean out stuck hairs using a wide toothed comb. Some people shampoo their BBB with their usual shampoo. The important thing is to dry the brush bristle-side down.... so that the water doesn't absorb into the bristle base holes, or the brush pad.
I don't clean my BBB because I like to keep the natural oils in it. What I plan to do soon is re-oil it LIGHTLY with jojoba and then "comb" it out.
Ooh, good idea with the jojoba oil AnaisSatin, thanks for your reply. How often should I clean my brush and I know the BBB is supposed to remove loose hair but how much? There seems to be quite a bit already!
Hair is BSL+ as of 9/15/05

Clean your brush as often as you need to keep it as clean as you wish it to be.
Always thoroughly detangle your hair (wide-tooth comb, regular comb,
paddle brush - in that order) before using the BBB. That will
help reduce the fallout while using the BBB to a minimum.
