Okay I'm crazy but I said I'd try and now I have.

I washed my hair, with blatant disregard for the cold water advice I give all the time, last night.  It clearly had some wave left but whatever.  Then I *boinked* into five Jenny-boinks.

Slept all night it was still slightly damp no surprise there.

This morning I turned on my Ultra Steam Shark, the one you clean up stove tops with.  I sprayed each boink with steam.  Now I''ve let the hair down to finish drying.

Looks like I made some kinky spots but that's from how I wrapped it.  upon initial inspection i looks pretty darn curly.  Maybe even more so than I would like.

There you have it a way to make steam work for you.

Sounds cool! I was wondering about that steam shark thing. Didn't want to spring the $50 or whatever if it's not good for steaming hair...God knows I'll never use it to clean anything.

Last night, I tried dying the 613 wawa with Rit dye. I soaked it for 1/2 hour on the stove at lowest gas setting. The bad news is that it didn't dye very well - it came out sort of that olive green - but it sure did make the hair silky soft. It seemed to have lost most of its curl, but this morning after air drying, it did retain some wave, and it is smoooooooth and silky. Must have been the hot water.

Yeah I bought it with grand intentions of cleaning.  MMM you know what they say about intentions.  Thought it does work quite well when I do bother.

But the hair is dry now.  And except for the kinky places from how I wrapped it the curl is pretty awesome.  I have only finger combed it.  Not assaulted it with my comb and silicone spray.

I really need to do some touch ups on this head of hair.  But with this show that i'm doing hair for having tech week right now and shows all weekends maybe next m onday I can do some serious touch ups and further experimentation.

Don't you just love the boinks? It's the only way to sleep, imo! :)

Hopefully I'll have enough time tomorrow morning to straighten out my kinkedup ends.  The boinks that I didn't rewrap this morning gave me a bit of a mess but in general if I could just get the placement right so that I am comfortable the boinks rock!
