My hair type is about 4A, tightly curled. Is there any way that I could change my hair type to 3b? (by taking hair vitamins, etc.)

Lili, I've been using MSM for a while now and it does loosen your curl pattern a bit. I have the same hair type as yours and it did help out. But there isn't a huge difference. I use the powdered MSM.

Being that your hairtype has everything to do with genetics- there is not much that you can do besides chemically altering it (texturizing)--and even then going from 4a to 3b is quite a big leap.   MSM may help your newgrowth come in softer/more manageable but it would never make a 4a head a 3b one.  Nothing can do that.  Your hair will always grow in the way its genetically programmed to no matter what you take.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you want to change your hairtype from 4a to 3b?  Is it because you don't like your hair type?  Or is it just because you would like to have a curly style?

That just worries me a little.  3b hair is beautiful, but so is 4a hair.  It's just that... some people don't see it that way.

Anyways, sistaslick is right.  Gentetic plays the biggest role in hair type.  What you eat also plays a role in the health/appearance of your hair, but it will not change your hair type.  The best things that you can get from supplements are softer hair, increased hair growth, shinier, stronger and all around more healthy looking hair, and a slight loosening of your natural curl.

Where do you get this powdered MSM? What brand is it? I'm not trying to change my hair type but it would be nice to have softer easier to manage new growth.

I think that I saw some powdered msm in GNC.  You could check it out if you're  not into internet shopping.  :)
