WHEN I WAS ABOUT 9 OR 10, I HAD MY HAIR FRENCH BRAIDED FOR THE FIRST TIME. SINCE THEN MY HAIR HAS BEEN VERY THIN ON THE SIDES. MY MOTHER TRIED USING GLOVERS MANE BACK THEN. IT HELPED A LITTE, BUT MY SIDES WERE NEVER THE SAME. NOW I BASICALLY GEL MY SIDES DOWN TO COVER THE BALD SPOTS. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET MY THIN HAIR TO GROW!!

You could also try VitaTress Biotin creme by Nexxus or ORS temple balm/serum. I've heard good things about both. ~hth

I agree renee.  Try the Surge or the Biotin Shampoo from Nexxus as stated earlier.  It really works and it made my hair thick!!

I too had a problem with sides due to weaving and braids.  But I've been using Surge Plus 14 and they are growing back very nicely.

Try massaging those areas and be gentle with them when it comes to styling and what not. Gel will defenitly not help.

Does the surge make your scalp burn?

I've used Surge as well, but didn't experience any burns or anything from it. It actually stops my hair from shedding whenever I have that problem. When I bought my last bottle from the BSS, they had some w/ stickers stating "new improved formula". I contacted the Cust Svc # on the bottle and was told the formula now includes an agent that's supposed to make it less drying to the hair. But with any new product, I'd suggest you try a patch test before applying.
