QuoteReplyTopic: Hair Straightening Help Posted: June 26 2005 at 2:28pm
I'm looking for a cheap hair straightener that heats up quickly. Any suggestions? I have really curly hair (not wavy, I have rings =D) and I want to straighten it out.
And when my hair's straight, should I still use curly-shampoo-formula stuff?
Here's me with straightened hair (my friend did it for me) (the picture isn't flattering at all >.>, sorry, I look better when I'm not smileing and talking at the same time :P):
And the God-awful curly hair:

Hey I know how you feel lol. My hair is as curly, maybe even a little curlier. I used a hair straightener for almost a year but I really got sick of having to straighten it all the time and how I hated getting it wet coz it would curl instantly. 2 weeks ago I got a reverse perm...cost me about $125-$150, but it is like magic. My hair still curls but now it doesnt curl into rings or a fro...its pretty straight when its wet with a little curl and its great. But now I dont have to worry about rain, humidity, or even the pool lol....so yea anyways thats my story. I wish I hadnt waited so long to get this done.

How cheap do u want ur iron to be? Usually the good 100% ceramic ones heat up quick but it comes w/ a higher price...check out www.folica.com for reviews on various irons, plus they have discounted prices a lot of the times...hope this helps!

I have the Remington wet to straight. You can use it on wet or dry hair but I use it dry. My hair is very curly and this works well cuz it gets real hot. I think I paid like twenty something for it at Wal-Mart.

Hey, I bought a ceramic plated Conair from Wal-Mart last year for 32$ canadian which heats up in 60 seconds which I have found really great. However, you might want to save up a bit of money and go for a 100% ceramic due to your beautiful set of curls!
Ever see the singer from hot hot heat? :) Embrace the curls ;)
