QuoteReplyTopic: Wanting hair to Grow Posted: July 08 2005 at 10:16am
I wonder what supplements if any does anyone in this forum take for hair growth. I would say that i wash my hair about 4-5 times a week and i ocassionally take vitamins fighting that gag reflex. Last year my hair grew from 14 to 20 and seems to have really stalled for the past year.....i really want it to grow. Can anyone offer me some suggestions thanks alot. PS i dont use heat in my hair but i do have a relaxer
currently 22 inches of hair from hairline to ends but i aspire to be 28 inches from hair line to ends in at least a year....currently relaxed 3c

You might want to check out the post on Surge and MSM - there are some studies there. Otherwise, vitamins that have proven to promote healthy hair growth are - biotin, magnesium, folic acid, zinc and some others.. most of those vitamins are found in One a Day or Centrum.
You do have to try them it out to see which one your hair responds best to.. by the way, drink lots of water too!
Good luck.

Water, Water, Water. It makes such a huge difference. I take a multivitamin and MSM. I would love to find a good chewable adult vitamin though. I think I would take it regularly then.

I should state, that I never thought about taking vitamins specifically for hair growth. There is a lack of certain vitamins caused by foods that I don't eat or can't eat (ex. fish or milk). Therefore, I take a vitamin to replenish those that I lack.

I hear you cmeseet. The vitiamins I take are flaxseed oil & Centrum. I don't want to speed up my hair growth. I just wnat it to grow on it's own.
I've had my experiences with the MSM, biotin, Nourishair, they just didn't work for me. The GNC Nourishair made my hair thicker...but my hair is already thick.
