I have had 2 relaxers in my life and I don't like them because they really dried and damaged my hair so I am sticking to flat ironing. but my cousin says once you get a relaxer you can't stop because your hair will break off is that  true because I have been growing my hair(up to my chest) out and I don't want it to get up to my earsPLEASE HELP ME

Usuallly around the demarcation line, (where the natural texture meets the relaxed texture) the hair may break off. You have to remove it eventually,you can just trim away the relaxed hair as you grow your hair out. Make sure to keep it moisturized and there will be less breakage but remember you have to get rid of it either way.

To a certain extent that is true.  Like cmesweet said, the line of demarcation may break off because of the difference in hair textures.  Are you trying to grow a relaxer out?  If so you will want to keep your hair well conditioned and moisturized and trim often.

yeah my hair is naturally curly  so i could'nt really tell so thamks for the advice
