bored with my hair...help....

Hi guys I'm Kendal, Im a high school Junior. And Im really bored with my hair. I've had my hair many lengths, I even donated a foot of it about a year ago. But I'm getting really bored of the cut I have now. I want something crazy fun and artsy. I dont have much time to spend on my hair so i would like something easy-er. I've also been blessed (or shall I say cursed) with Ultra-thick hair. Meaning I cant get cuts that are too short, Or my hair poofs to the max! Heres a pic of me one day when i actually curled my hair.

And another of my today. My hairs still kinda damp, so It has yet to reach its max poof potential. Also ignore that im not wearing any makeup.....Its a lazy day.

Hopefully you guys can help me. Just keep in mind that Im an artist, I dont want to be bland. Needless to say what ever I get I'll make work. But I'd love to get something I actually love. I usually wear my hair up, but I figure If i like the cut then i'll wear it down.

Also I'm going to redye my hair...its an auburn brown now. Any suggestions?

I can also just let my hair grow. I have people telling me it looks good short, and other people telling me it looks good long. Really I can pull off either way. I just want something new.
