Hi All,

I'm so excited!! I got my human hair in yesterday and spent most of the day washing, oiling (coconut & olive) and conditioning. I was hoping for dark brown with reddish tones to match my own natural color but alas, the hair was black.

I have no experience with coloring hair other than an occasional semi-permanent color...did highlights in my sister's hair a couple months ago. However with the help of Amm's coloring post and another lady's post over at the BMH forum I did it The Indian hair turned out grand...3 very close yet different shades of dark brown with red that mixes and mingles with my own hair color perfectly. I am so glad to be getting closer to getting my hair back. I wore a big chunk of the Indian hair clipped in my head today...ahh, my security blanket has been terribly missed these last 2 weeks, 4 days and 6 hours. Yes I am fanatical...I have hardly left the house other than on quests for hair extension paraphernalia.

The hair actually feels even better after I lifted the color. I used "Silk Elements Megasilk" conditioner afterward. The chunk I have worn most of the day still feels great, silky soft and no tangles yet...hope it does well for the long run. My own hair (before it was chopped off) tangled easily too. But I wear my hair in that messy boho style so as long as I don't end up with dreds I'm OK  The only area (while cleaning the hair) that I foresee tangle problems occurring, is where the weft is and the tip of each hair is bent back downward...that area can become a little "bunched" and start to form a tangle if you are not careful. I remember reading somewhere that hair cuticles act like Velcro with each other if they are running in opposite directions...do not know if that is true or not but can see that happening easily in the weft area.

Hopefully I will be installing within the next few days with shrinkies.

A great thanks to you all for helping me get this far

Bridgette (who wants to pretip her hair but is way too tired)

This week has been crazy I have not had time to report my new install of indian hair .com. I love this hair, best yet!!! I colored it with 8n redkin and 40 vol and got a beautifull #4. This hair is so soft. I use natures theraphy (an oil) and then kerisilk. It's soft and full of body. Can't say enough. I wont use it on lighter colors because it's such a pain to bleach. but my darker clients that like some curl this is the way to go.

I ordered the "Natural Straight Machine Weaving" 20 inches from here

http://indianhairs.com/

Each bundle of Natural Straight appears to have come from one individual person. The hair attached to each weft appears uniform in a natural state, varying in length to a tapered thinner bottom edge...as if you placed someone's hair in a ponytail and cut it off. Of the 3 bundles only one had bad split ends the other 3 only had a few split ends on the very bottom. Each bundle had 2-5 grays which I just pulled out. After cleaning all four bundles, 2 of the bundles were slightly wavier in texture. I actually choose the one with the bad splits for my first install...it most closely matched my own hair in the amount of waviness. I snipped the splits off while removing the nits. Yes, they had the nit shells.  I just spread the bundle out on the deck table and spent a couple of hours going over it. The splits and nits really show up in the sunlight. The nits are stuck tight to individual hairs and the only way I could remove them is to slide them down and off the individual hair.

After the install I will post pictures over the weekend or the begining of next week.

Bridgette

I ordered the same and had a few more greys than bumble. but pulled them and picked the nits. I soaked it after shampooing in olive oil for hours. I have so much going on this week but I will get some pic's by monday.

This may be a dumb question but why do the hair have nits?

This is the only reason I have not made a purchase cause the thought of Lice is frightening to me.

I do know that nits are baby lice right?  Shouldn't the company remove this for you ?

Hi,

To my understanding the hair is treated for lice by the supplier. The nits are more like a hard egg case/shell not actual live "baby lice". The nits are extremely hard and stick tight to individual hairs...imagine a very small drop of super glue stuck to a hair...very hard to remove. The hair is sold in a virgin state so I guess some nit type shells can be expected. But since they treat the hair for lice and the hair itself has been removed from the donors head (no food supply) for an extended period of time hopefully there is nothing viable left that would cause someone to contract a lice infestation from the hair.

the thought of seeing lice, never mind touching lice wether dead or not is sickening to me to say the least. there are many other companys out there that sell good hair without dealing with dead bug egg shells.

i had bought some hair from RK indian hair place and there were some nits on them and it made me sick, i did do an install after i went through it forever and i didnt even like the quality of the hair at all.
