Ok I had my hair done in a full weave a few days ago. I have had tracks added for length before, but never had all of my hair woven. I took my hair down less than 24 hours later however.
The braids were so tight that it hurt to chew food at dinner. It hurt to look down also. Basically anything that caused the skin to stretch just a tiny bit HURT LIKE HELL. So I took them out...
Before I left the salon another client complimented the stylist's braiding skills. She said that she loves to have her hair braided tight, because it makes her eyes slant for the first few days, giving her an exotic look.
Is it just me...or is that just WAY TOO TIGHT??
And is it just me...or is this a BAD BAD STYLIST?? BECAUSE...
I asked the stylist about fusion, and if it causes damage to the hair. She told me NO, because the extension hair is added to the ends of your hair, so even if there is minor damage you can just trim off the ends and have healthy hair again! Um, uh... fusion attaches at the roots...
Well, apparently she doesn't know anything about fusion.
When I was getting weaves, yes they were very tight for the first few days, and then they loosened up. I just got used to it. My hair did not suffer any damage from the tight braiding, even after wearing weaves for 5 or so years. That's not to say a weave can't cause damage, it can, but for me it did not.
