After a shower today, I applied gel but did NOT touch it on my head or scalp. Would this cause any problems still?

And what would happen if I were to sleep with the gel on?

Um... Gel use might cause dryness in the long run, but if your hair is short then it shouldn't be a problem.

Gel will usually dry up and flake off after awhile. Dried gel would get on your pillowcase, your sheets, if you didn't wash it out of your hair before bed.
