I've been doing a lil research on henna.... for the longest I wanted black, blue black natural hair.  I hate relaxers, texturizers and hair dyes... Im a bit of a naturopath.

So, I've been looking for a natural way to achieve this hair color.  Then I founded this site http://reverndbunny.sphosting.com/hair.htm

She suggest that henna and indigo naturally dyes hair black.  I just kinda wanted a second opinion or testimony.

Has anyone ever used henna before???

I've used Hennalucent in Sunset Glo for a protein treatment. I'm not sure the kind you will use but I liked the hint of color it gave my hair, it stays for a long time to. You will need a really good moisturizer, though.

I think the kind I need would be the natural henna in powder form, or possibly even the kind used on skin to make body art.

But you did like the color though, huh.  Thats good, I also like that you said it lasts a long time.

What is this Hennalucent in Sunset you mentioned?  Where'd you get it???

Oh, and by the way, thanks for your response.

A lot of women use henna on their hair out here. The only problem is that when you put it on, you can't use hair dye over it. You have to wait for it all to grow out first. I think that has something to do with the metalic salts in the henna.

Also, I don't know about using it for the hair but I'm assuming it would go on your scalp...The problem with using the black henna is that you don't know what kind of dyes they have used to make the henna black. Natural henna stains a reddy color. But you're using indigo so it could be OK.

I have also heard that repeated use of henna can actually dry the hair out, eventually making it like straw.

I used henna aaaaaaaages ago on my hair, but I can't really remember it very well hehe. Good luck with your decision!
