Hey everyone I'm new to this forum but I have a question. Is is
possible for me maintain curly hair even though I have a relaxer?
My hair is very wavy naturally and I get relaxers regularly because I
like my hair straight most of the time. But when it is wet, it
goes into spiral curls and is very pretty. I would like to keep
my hair like this but not permanently. The problem is, when I let
it dry, it fizzes up and I end up looking like bozo the clown. I
was wondering if there were any products out there that would define
and hold the curls but could be washed out when I shampoo every
week. The look that I'm going for is sort of like when you take
out the cornrows in your hair. Really wavy and curly.
A serum or a light gel might help. NTM makes a great serum that I use, and I hear that Fantasia IC Sparklelites is a great gel. Have you tried co-washes to tame the frizzies?

to retain my curls after its dry, i use boots curl cream and mix it with another product that im too lazy to check out. first, i use a leave...either kenra MC or nexxus humectress. i prefer kenra. then i use my curl cream and other cream mixture and voila. do not comb your hair!

unruly than an afro even lolol! cuz its like half curls
and half this straight stuff thats frizz,,, im growing out
my perm ,,,,i heard oils are good for this....
Hair type: 3b some c?, fine strands, last relaxer sept 05, never again!!! current :ap length on sides,,nearly bsl in back, damn those old frazzled ends! I am hair OBSESSED

Hey thanks everyone for your suggestions! I will definately look
into them. Pokahontas, I've seen your pics on Fotki and I like
the curls that you have. I bought Softsheen's Carefree Curl and
I'm about to use it but I'm not exactly sure how. Do I need to
use the gel with it???

Also...do I put the Carefree Curl on after my hair is dry or when it's
wet??? Actually, if ANYONE could help me out, it would be
appreciated because I already went ahead and put some anti-frizz creme
in my hair and let it air dry and I have to go to school
tomorrow! So please hit me up.

Thank you. Did you get the spray in kind? That's the kind I have. I just spray it on until it's fully saturated, but not too much or it will be too heavy, comb through wet hair. You can use the gel with it if you want....it depends on what kind of curls you want. If you want more defined curls use the gel because the Carefree curl dosen't have a lot of hold. I usually put the gel in my hair and twirl the curls around my fingers for added definition.
