QuoteReplyTopic: LUSH & Premium Adhesive Shrinkies 4 Sale! Posted: January 25 2006 at 8:19pm
Hi everyone! As some of you know I recently did
a Lush install with the shrinkies, and I feel compelled to give honest
feedback. The shrinkies held awesome and only had a couple lost Lush strands over
a couple weeks. The Lush hair on the other hand wasn't very good for me. It
feels and looks great out of the package, but man oh man after a few washes it
was very dry and VERY tangled. So bad I had to wear it in a braided ponytail
most of the time so it wouldn’t rat up on me. I used Alterna Cavier line on the
hair and deep conditioned all the time, so it's not like I was abusive to the
hair. I do live in Hollywood,
so maybe our air is a bit dry..I don't know if that could do it? I ordered some
lush milk, but I couldn't even hold out for it to arrive the matting got so
bad. I took them all out yesterday. Good news is I have zippo damage. my hair
looks just a good as it did before I put them in. I took my time and used the shrinkies orange
remover stuff. That stuff rocks!!
I ordered some weft Bohyme hair as suggested to me by a few folks. I also
ordered some clips to make clips ins to wear for awhile just at night to give
my scalp some R&R. Then I'm going to try proflex with the bohyme. Sherri
inspired me
So long story short, I have a back supply of the Lush hair in #33 that I will
never wear. I should have waited to see how it did before ordering so much. Let
me know if you would like to buy from me via paypal. I also have a brand new
bag of 800 premium clear shrinkies I don't foresee myself using if anyone wants
to buy those too?
I would return directly to shrinkies.net but because the Lush was bought on
sale, it's not returnable. Also, I didn't realize that all shrinkies purchased
are also nonreturnable. I guess someone switched them out once on a return to
shrinkies.net (what a jerk that person was huh??).
I'm a good, honest person (I work for Disney even haha). I would never cheat
anyone. You never mess with a woman's man or hair. Those are my rules
You can reach me at tjoh_99@yahoo.com should you want to buy either. No sense
in letting them collect dust.
I hope I don't offend anyone. I feel this forum should be for open,
honest communication...a place where we can feel safe to share as long
as it's honest, on base and expressed without anger (ie dont flame me
out for sharing my own, personal experience).
Anyhoo hoo, that's my feedback. I'll post pictures when I get my new boyhme in
with the proflex and let you know how it holds for me.
Nite nite everyone!

ive gotta agree with you.. i know theres been a lot of positive feedback onthis hair, but after a few washes it got really dry and strawish looking.. i dont get it, it looked and felt beautiful when i first got it.. ? ive done everything right too, slept in a bun and not washed it TOO much, used good conditioners that are good on the extension hair... but it looks and feels gross after just one or two weeks.. oh well.. im gonna try synth now and see how that is or bohyme for my last try with human hair

Yeah, same thing, I know there was lots good on the hair. But me
personally, not the greatest experience. I was willing to chalk it up to our
weather (chicago, cold, seriously windy) but even if I am just sitting
around my apartment it tangles on me. It's frustrating, because what's the
point of having extensions if you can never wear them down!?
I've been doing the same thing as I've did with my old extensions that
worked out good and I had no problem with. So who knows?

Im sorry to hear the bad experiences with Lush. I had an excellent run with it! I have the worst luck with hair holding up. Being a #613 blonde and the daily torture that I put my hair through can ruin even the best hair in a hurry....but the lush held up for me for the nearly 3 months that I had it in. Strange isnt it?

Oh by the way ladies......I was having some serious problems with a few batches of hair (a few chinese suppliers) I was thinking it was really crap hair, just like you describe...dry, strawlike, tangles, matts... but after a post here on the board about a shower filter, I started wondering if it could be all the chlorine in my city water that was making my hair so dry and terrible. I went right out and bought a shower filter....and it really DOES make a difference in the way my hair feels and also my skin is not so dry. (They say there is as much or more chlorine in tap water as in a swimming pool)....just something to think about!
Also I bought a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Its a cherry bark and passion flower blend....called ABBA.
i have installed lush on a few clients and have had great success. i over bought so much of it i am needing to sell some right now. yeah i know, i am a hair addict!
i still have some we installed in my hair 4 mths ago now. still going strong. 613 too.
Bringing beauty, one head at a time...

I could see that variable. What I don't understand is if other hair I bought,
I had no problem with, and everything was the same, water, shampoo,
conditioner....I could see if I've never had sucess with any HH. The only
variable is the weather for me. Which it definately could be.

Hmmm, well I am on my 3rd Lush install since Thanksgiving.
1st install: hair got very dry after 10 days and continued to tangle after the dryness was fixed. Found out that the products that I was using may have contributed to the problems I experienced with this install, switched to the Purology product line for next install. - duration of install = 3 weeks.
2nd install: hair did not dry out at all, however, it began to tangle after 2 weeks so I installed a shower head filter. The filter seemed improve the condition of the hair immediately but may have been too little, too late...3rd wash with the filter the hair tangled so severly in the shower that it took me 30 minutes to comb through! - duration of install = 3 weeks.
Current install: after 1 week all is fine, no tangling hair's condition feels great. I have fixed everything that I have control over to keep the hair in good condition and have high hopes that it will be enough. If I have the same kind of problems with this install I will resolve that Lush hair does not work for me. But if all stays well, I will be buying some more!

That was very well put tjoh99, we should offer our opinions so we all can learn. My initial opinion of Lush was favorable. I did like the color and the texture out of the package. After several washings I wasn't pleased with the quality. I'm unable to dismiss it as weather, hair products, maintenance etc... because I'm not experiencing the matting, dryness or knotting with the Bohyme installed simultaneously in a different shade (lighter). It is interesting that the Lush quality seems to vary drastically. I wear #4 which usually doesn't have the "issues" of lighter colors. For those that are pleased with the Lush and need some #4, please let me know. I admire Amm's business ac*men and really like her Lush Baby shampoo. I tried the Lush milk and it wasn't the hair panacea I was expecting.
I've had my install with my new lush for almost three weeks now and I've had no problems and I live in cold and snowy Idaho. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week though and I am really not careful with it when I sleep or work out and it is doing just fine. I haven't tried bohyme yet or the new elite line because I really like shrinkies and I don't want to tackle tipping my own hair!

I am inclined to agree with you tjoh99--about the quality of lush hair I received. I have never had my hair tangle so bad....it also takes me forever to get the knotts out after i get out of the shower. I have tried every suggestion put on the forum...but to no avail. I brush and put detangler on before getting into the shower...now if i had never worn extentions I might think it was something I was doing...now I really like the shrinkies just not my batch of lush hair. It sounds like there are those who haven't had the problems that we have....maybe the supplier is getting different batches from several different places....and we just happen to get a bad batch. When did you order you lush? I think I got mine right before Thanksgiving.
I love Amms site and i have ordered more hair and supplies from her...this time I'm getting the elite wefts. I don't think I will have the same problems with this hair. I also am installing 4oz of Glamour Hair with the elite. One is a french refined and the elite is a natural body wave....can't wait until I get my shrinkie elite order...just received my french refined today and it is lovely hair!
Thanks,
JeepGirl
Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!
Add me to the list of people who had tangly lush hair. I wore #4 for about 2 weeks and had to take it out. I've had no problems with Amm's virgin indian hair. It's awesome.

Hmmm...I bought hair in the first batch of Lush that Amm got in. (When it was still 100 tips per 4 oz.) I wonder if the supplier sent her a different quality of hair after that initial first batch. Just like they did with the wefts that she got in and ended up selling off cheap. They were supposed to be Lush, but they sent her a lower quality hair on the wefts, which wasnt what she was supposed to recieve. It seems there was some real issues with the supplier of Lush, which is probably why she is discontinuing the Lush line.....its too bad really. Why cant HH be more consistant with quality!
I so wanted to love this hair. It looked like it was going that way but I have found it to be tangling up on week two for about 3/4 of them. Some have used lush milk and it worked others no go. I removed one last night after 2 weeks. It was color 4 it was just matting and she couldn't brush it.
With EP discontinuing there line I hope Anna will be stocking up on that.
I would love to find a reasonable price hair for my clients who can't afford EP but I'm going to insit on bohyme ( which I have to charge a fee to tip) or soft wear(elite) for now.
