heat fusion hair and make a stick tip?

I was wondering if you can heat a nail tip hair strand and roll it to make a stick tip to be used with shrinkies or silicone microrings.
I'm pretty new to DIY extensions and have done a succesful Lush install with shrinkies, but want to use the Elite Remy for my next install and do a shrinkie and protak/weft combo.  Some of the colors I want to use though, only come in nail tips and the idea of doing a fusion process and having to crunch bonds with pliers sounds like it might be very damaging in the removal process (I have baby fine hair), plus having to re-tip the hair to use again isn't exciting.
