hello everyone! I have a friend in NYC that has had quite a bit of hair loss due to diabetes. Her hair is about shoulder length and she has had 400 shrinkies put in to add thickness. The problems are that her scalp is still very visible, especially on top, and she is looking for some method that will give better coverage. Her hair is jet black and she has a natural large white chunk at the very front. This definitely adds a challenge since the black hair is so contrasty against her scalp as well as the shock of white at her front hairline. Can anyone give me ideas for stylists in the NYC area that would be able to help? And any suggestions for particular methods that would work best? Thank you!
The only hair extension method that can address a thinning crown area is the full weave. In NYC, there's man named Clem Lue Yat that devised a full weave technique called a net weave. www.clemlueyat.com
Other than that, you'd probably have to go with a 'topper' hair piece.

I checked his site and a lot of the links don't work, so I couldn't find details on the type of weave you mentioned, but I guess my friend can set up a consultation and see if it will work for her. Do you recommend this type of weave over a regular weave? If so, why? Thanks again metalgirl!
