QuoteReplyTopic: Going reddish brown to light brown Posted: February 17 2006 at 12:05pm
I have been dying my hair at home for years..never had any problems. I currently have may hair a reddish brown color..its by clairol, and is called medium spice..19B I think.
Anyways, Id like to go a bit lighter..maybe to a light brown or dark blonde. Because of the red hue in my hair, Im afraid to do it..should I remove the color? If anyone has any suggestions, or knows of a product I could use, Id appreciate it..this is the first time Ive ahd my hair a darker color..Im used to just playing around in the blondes, and dont want to end up looking like a banana!

I would remove the color because red is the hardest to get rid of. After that. You'd need to bleach your hair to the desired level and then color it. Otherwise, you'll probably have orange hair.
