I dyed my (naturally blonde) hair dark brown recently, and I loved it at first. But now it has faded a lot and I really do not like the color it turned into. So now I want to dye it back to blonde. What I want to know is, how long should I wait before I color it again? I've never done the dark to light thing before and I really need advice so I don't screw up my precious hair.
Oh, and I dyed it on January 15th. It was almost black but it's more of a light chestnut brown now. I'm not too crazy about it. I want to dye it light blonde, if I can. It's just more me.
Sorry, I didn't give much information! I've had very
good luck with hair color in the past. My hair is also very long (it
falls to my butt) and naturally wavy. I tend to straighten it a lot,
but I otherwise take very good care of it, so it's pretty healthy.
The color I want is basically like the girl in my signature. My natural hair is dark-ish honey blonde. And it's a chestnut now.
You know what, Colorfix first, which I understand you can't get in Canada... Otherwise if you try to use single process color, nothing will happen. Well except unnecessary damage. Color won't lift color. Bleaching long hair is never a good idea especially when it hasn't been colorfixed. Also a darker dye may leave you with orange hair if you try to bleach it out, without removing the color first.
If you can get colorfix then remove the color. Next strand test a highlift blonde ash series, if you are an ash dark blonde a highlift might get you there. Strand test. Otherwise bleach to pale yellow and apply Toehead, Clairol Creme Toner.
