I'm new here!  I have naturally curly (3a/3b) hair that I've been trying all my life to straighten. (Everyone tells me to leave my curls alone, but I don't have "nice" curls.) My last trip to the stylist left me with a good understanding of how to use a flat iron, so I bought one on Thursday. I'm happy with the results, except it looks kind of dull. I know I should use a heat protectant, so I'm on my way to the store to buy some. Any other ideas? I used an "anti-frizz" cream. Should I use a gel??

Thanks,

Lisa

When you straighten your hair don't use gel its too heavy on moisture and it will probably make your hair frizzy or kinky use a spray gel instead. For the protectant use some kind of serum preferrably anti frizz.
