I went to an African store today and tried a sample of shea butter. I put it on my face and hands, and it felt a little greasy, but very moisturizing.

I noticed that it felt different from shealoe. Shealoe moisturizes with a bit of a "wet" feel, but not as greasy.

I can't find shealoe locally, but I can buy shea nearly by the tub and don't have to get it online, pay shipping, or wait for it.

How would you describe the differences in shea/shealoe for hair, and which would you say is better?

It is the gel from the aloe that makes shealoe feel "wet"  I guess the shealoe is easier to put on your hair.  Why don't you buy the shea butter and some aloe gel and mix it with a hand mixer, you got shealoe!  I just thought of that, so let me know how that works out so I'll know to try it or not

Where would I find the aloe gel? If I could find that and make my own shealoe (or decide to use either ingredient alone), I would probably NEVER buy it online again.

Oh, I could get the shea on my hand, and it melted. I don't think I would have a problem getting it on my hair. I'm just wondering if it's as good as or better (or worse) than shealoe.

Ok...if you want a small bottle of Aloe juice or aloe gel you can purchase it in the health food store and larger sizes.

Stores, such as walgreens and CVS carry the HUGE containers ( meaning gallons) in the laxative departments on the bottom shelf.
