QuoteReplyTopic: Is there a red color that lifts? Posted: May 23 2006 at 10:25am
I was blonde then went to red. It was a dark red for a while til I took a lot of the dark of it out. Now it's a nice, light warm coppery color. The problem is, my natural hair color is a dark blonde. The red is lighter then my natural color. Is there a red hair color that will lift as well?
Hi Pizzy, Please bear with me... I'm not sure I understand. Are you trying to lift the natural color on your roots? Or the hair that has already been dyed? If your roots - absolutely. You can pair pretty much any red color with the right volume developer to lift the amount you need. 10 vol lifts up to 1 level, 20 vol lifts up to 2 levels, 30 vol lifts up to 3 levels. (I don't recommend using 40 vol, which lifts up to 4 levels - you can easily get in over your head with unpredictable results!) If you're trying to lift the previously colored hair, you can't do that with a red color. You need to remove the color with a product like Color Fix first. Using another color will not lift the dye that's already there. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I think it is loreal...or maybe Clairol that has a line of High-lift reds...I used to use it on my hair which was a about a level 2...beautiful results.
