Sorry I don't know how to post pictures.
 
How would I get this? I think its straightened but it has a slight wavy effect if you know what I mean.
 
Any ideas?

It looks like he just cut it and did the famous head toss to get it to go to the side.

well, its cut in a layered style, and probably used a pomade to keep the layers separated.  to make it "flip" like that, blow dry it while brushing it off to the side.
