OK don't laugh too hard at this experiment. I had Betty (Dome method) install RK double drawn hair (yeah yeah I know, and yes I did want to look like a dog) folded over using heat seals. OK so I'm a fool, but I HAD to try heat seals with human hair and this was the only way to do it. YES I actually purchased the "Cuticle free" hair from RK. I had it installed in #22 and #8. Here's the #22 fyi:

Here's the back after washing and drying. It doesn't tangle. Then again it doesn't curl or do much else. . .however. . .it matches the perfectly awful texture of my own hair:

Here's the front. By the way the only reason you see curl is because I have some of amm's elite remi thrown in there because I needed to do *something* to get some style.

SO. . .hmmm. . .considering that I paid, oh $100 for 28" hair, and I've folded it completely in half and it hasn't tangled or matted. . .if you want a low-budget install I'd say it's a winner. . . or if you want heat seals with human hair it'll work just so you know. . .but you can't get much more length than this because the hair has to be completely folded in half, and it doesn't do much.

See me jumping up and down. Not. I know I sound like eeyore but I wanted to share my experiment with y'all. . .

You're so pretty, Fina.

Hope it hangs in there for ya. Keep us posted. Have you tried a smaller barrel iron and instead of putting the end of the hair in under the tong and rolling up, wrap the hair around the barrel and hold for about 30 seconds on high heat. I get a nice spiral with a harder to curl Indian. A spritz of holding spray and although the curl may drop to a loose wave, at least it's got a little vavoom in it.
