Hi, I'm not sure if this forum is the right place to seek help for my 'problem' but I figure it’s the best suited and I could really use the help. I'm a 20 year old half black/asian. Growing up with my fathers' side of the family or the black side I got all the hair treatments the rest of my family did. My grandmother and aunts put perm after perm in. Hot combs, relaxers, micro-braids, corn rows, pig tails, you name it, I've probably had it. However, the older I got the more I realized my hair was just too thin (no mater how thick it looked) to pull off those styles or more importantly, hold all those chemicals. After deciding, against the better judgment of my grandmother and aunts, to lose those hair styles and chemicals, I've fallen in love with the natural curly fro that’s developed. The problem is it's still really thin. Attempting any other styles than the one I have now just doesn’t look or feel right. Are there any products that anyone knows of that can thicken and or strengthen my hair? I've heard of 'doogrow' (I think) but I'm not sure if that’s meant for strictly 'black' hair. Pleas help:/

Ive noticed that protein treatments have thickened up my hair and also made it healthier because a protein treatment rebuilds the hair shaft and prevents breakage and thinning. You should try Aphogee Treatment for Damaged hair to rebuild your hair.  Make sure after using this that you follow up with a moisturizing conditioner because the protien treatment tends to make you hair hard and the moisturizing conditioner will help to soften it.  I have also heard of people using castor oil on their hair and this helped to thicken the hair over time.
