QuoteReplyTopic: New Here - CLip On Help! Posted: September 02 2006 at 3:31pm
Hi im new here so HEY!
I want clip on extentions so I can wear them when I want my hair is medium lenght but Id love to be able to make it longer and fuller and even put sum temp highlights in when I go out
I have a few questions though -
- I color my hair with semi perm so it fades how would i find a color to match my hair when it fades? Does it have to be the EXACT same color?
- Can you buy hair clips at local stores like Sallys beauty? If not do they have the supplies to make them? (im puerto rican and have wavy hair that i flat iron mostly)
- How much does clips cost all together?
- Can you curl one day and flat iron the next?
- Are they natural looking?
Thanks for ANY help/advice you could give me :)

I don't know clip on but I think it's one of the easiest extension method, you can make research on the net ( google) to see what the prices are and I would recommend you to create your own clip on yourself, buy the hair+ clip, find a tutorial on how to do that (I think there's a tutorial on a one of the permanent link at the top of this forum). If it's temporary clip on you maybe don't need to get the best hair bec you won't wash them and dry them like permanent extensions. Maybe you could try with synthetic hair, like wawa or Plastikhaar. Read the past posts of the forum on clip on, you'll find good infos too! Prices vary a lot for clip ons, the ones that are already made for you are around $200 to $300 I would say (from what I remember), then if you do it yourself, you can make some for less then $100 for the whole head. I think you can style them as long as the hair is human, and if it's not, it has to be thermoresistant.
I think it's natural looking but of course the colour has to be a good match w/ your natural hair, good luck!

I agree with Frenchie. It's a lot cheaper to make your own. I know it's
easier to buy them ready made so if you have the money you might want
to do that.
Sallys does sell the clips. They between .50 cents and $2.00 a clip. I
don't know why some are more $$ it depends on the store. I buy the
smallest clips b/c they're more comfortable.
If you want to go between curly and straight you should buy human hair.
If you wear your hair straight most of the time buy straight and curl
it when you want it curly or buy some hair that's straight and some
curly.
If your color changes, the clips don't have to match exact. You'd be
surprised how well they blend especially if you're doing more than one
row.
