QuoteReplyTopic: Toning hair platinum with Goldwell Topchic? Help! Posted: September 17 2006 at 12:09pm
I bleach my hair to pale yellow every month or so, I'm pretty confident about doing this and I've been doing it for a couple of years. My hair is in good condition considering all the bleaching. My problem is toning, It always goes too fast (within about a minute) and sometimes turns grey because im not getting it rinsed out fast enough!! :( I want it to be the kind of white colour that almost has a hint of blue in some lights.
I have a choice of 3% or 6% developer and Goldwell topchic tubes of 11 pearl and 11 violet. Ive been using my 6% developer with these, I'm assuming 3% will slow it down? Can anyone tell my the exact ratios I should mix up, I keep reading different ratios everywhere, and also approximatley how long I should expect to keep it on my hair for although I know I'll have to watch it and judge for myself.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me :)
I would do a 1:1 ratio because you probably want more deposit than lift for a toner. If you have problems with porosity, try spraying your hair with conditioner or water before you tone.
