QuoteReplyTopic: Baby fine hair!!! Posted: November 24 2006 at 1:11pm
I am new here, and I was wondering what brand of hair is best for baby fine blonde hair, and what method is best?? I have tried very many brands and the texture is just to thick making it look unnatural, please help me..
my hair is really fine, and i've used all sorts and for me it blends just fine....are you sure it wasnt the TEXTURE of the hair, as opposed to the diameter of each strand?...i've used indian hair from RKhairproducts, Bohyme french refined, and natural wave from jetsetextensions....the coarseness of each of those hairs varies, but i really have never had a problem with it blending......and for me protac tape installs have been super easy and nondamaging
if you really feel your hair isnt blending because of the coarseness of the extension hair, there are several past posts on european hair for matching very fine hair(kinda pricey) good luck!
What hair have you tried? Just from looking from afar, Bohyme silky straight looked very thin and fine. I don't know from experience, so maybe someone else can help out more.

Well Ive tried His and Her.com, and used alot off of ebay, i like bohyme but the 613 is alot more golden than my hair. Is plastikhaar easy to maintain, because have not much time for myself I have a 6 yr old, and a 7 month old daughters.

I too have the same problem! Very fine hair, and not very thick either! I have tried lots of different brands and types, and my favorite so far is Russian or European virgin hair. It's very fine and healthy and will last a long time if you care for it correctly. The initial price is more than you pay for other hair, but I think it's more of an investment because you can reuse it. It's always healthier than my own hair, and shinier and softer too!

HI! I currently use the plastikhaar. It is a finer texture. As far as maintenance, I don't really feel it's an issue but it really depends on how you wear your hair. Is it straight? Curly? Do you use things on your hair like a straightner or curling iron or do you prefer a dry and go style?

Hi Briproud! Welcome to the board! I have extremely fine and damaged hair, not very long, and not thick at all. I really like Bohyme silky straight so far, I iron it so it looks as straight and silky as my own hair so no problem with blending at all in terms of texture.
For the problem of color, I can't help you because I have golden blonde hair, not platinium (not sure of this word?..), anyway, I bet Sherrie can help you for that because she has very light blonde hair..

Thanks for everyone's input, I do have very staight hair that is not at all perfect condition. Is plastikhaar hard to take care of, what do you do different with synthetic vs human?

Hi Briproud, welcome!I haven't found a synthetic that feels like human when wet. On that note I feel the synthetics dry really quickly cause they don't absorb water. With the plastikhaar it can at times get frizzie & a bit unsoft, so every let's see week and a half I'll take a bowl from the kitchen put water in it and microwave till it boils. You have to make sure you've brushed it out with no tangles then dip the bottom part of the hair in boiling water lay it over a towel and brush it with a course brush, I use a round one I have. gets rid of the frizzies. The plastikhaar feels really soft to me when dry. To keep it in tip top condition when you blow dry it you should use a round brush & dry the ends while rolling it. Keeps away the frizzies.
My hair is not in perfect condition and I love the synthetic. I like the synthetic cause I have platinum hair and finding real hair to match and be consistently good quality is extremely difficult. You can't use any hot tools on the regular plastikhaar just velvet heated rollers or a steam setter. I condition the hair with a mix of vivasil & diluted fabric softner (free & clear version). Sherries wawa is not as fine or soft as plastikhaar but it's really cheap, really quick to get, less upkeep then the plastikhaar since it's a bit thicker, it's thermofiber, and cause it's a bit less fine I don't feel it tangles at all.
Just think of normal hair, the finer the hair the more you need to make sure to brush it and such. I dont feel the maintenance is higher from synthetic to human.
With both there are things you need to do, I believe Amm posted about putting it over your shoulders while showering and not pulling on it while wet due to the extra weight. Tie it back and don't let it fly in the wind, brush it morning and night. Make sure to at least sleep with it in a braid.
I feel with synthetic you don't worry about putting conditioner on it, just on your hair. As far as install methods I recommend starting with sherries protac. It's gentle quick and easy. From there experiment.

I use a nice silicone spray called Proclaim from Sally's Beauty. I still remember as a child my aunt used a fabric softner sheet on my head. It works just using too much makes your head oily.
