Hi could anyone tell me what are the preperations in appling fusion to african american hair should I shampoo with a clarifying shampoo and apply a protein to protect it from the heat ? and what is the up keep on this? Im just starting out as a cosmetologist and was trained on caucasian hair but i know ethnic hair need moisture and balance. Help?
We can wear fusion. It's just that yes we do have to have moisture within our hair, but remember your clients hair has to be the candidate for fusion. Anyone with dry hair or scalp is not a candidate. Too much protein will cause the hair to break, remember to reiterate to your clients you are what you eat. The hair has to have no oil or conditioner on it prior to fusion install, if not it will lessen the life of the fusion install, which leads to shedding. Anymore fusion questions, let me know.
Oh yeah, the rings are an option also. Too much conditioner, or oil will cause either method to slip.

After install, shampoo with cream of nature shampoo, it doesn't dry the extension hair out or the natural hair
Cream of nature conditioner is pretty good also.
Joico products are good, when order prducts the manufacturerhas preferences on what products are recommendable. The longer you do hair, the more prducts you need to familiarize yourself with which ones work for you and that client.
