Hey everyone.....
Sorry if this is a little off topic.....but it does involve hair extension hair.
I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on how to keep the curl in my hair.
The hair I have installed is straight, but some nights I like to curl it for the clubs or wherever I am going. However, within anywhere for half hour to an hour, all the curls loose their bounce and my hair just becomes kind of nappy looking.
I usually just curl with a standard curling iron and then spray with some hairspray.
Any other advice? I would love to have curls that last for the night!
try a ceramic hot roller set that has a soft flocking layer on the roller to protect the extension hair
I bought mine at Sally's
it's called BaByliss PRO
It takes some getting used to - to go from a curling iron to hot rollers, but I think it holds the curl better
When you take the roller out, pin the curl until it's completely cool. I usually put the curlers in, let them heat, take them out, pin the curls, reheat the curlers, do the rest of the hair, take those out and then pin that hair up too while it cools, then take all the pins out at once and the curls hold really well. I have to use lots of product for when I'm dancing though, no matter how I curl it. If I get really hot I lose some of the curl and bounce no matter what I've done to the hair
i use Proclaim heat protectant thermal styling spray (sally's has it) on my hair before i curl, i spray...brush it through....curl(usually now with a curling iron, but i do hot rollers too), and i dont touch the curls until all my hair is cooled off....spritz with sebastian shaper spray...then i may brush/comb through a little, and that holds it (im not using the silky straight hair though, but this holds my 'natural wave' curls until i shampoo again, and i only shampoo 2-3xwk now) hope that will help ya

What I have found, which may be off, but it's my experience, is certain hair types don't seem to curl well.
Otherwise, what size barrel are you using? You could try going smaller than the curl you want, and they will loosen up some. I used to always use my big 1 1/2 one, because I wanted looser curls, but they would fall, then I used a 3/4 and now I get the big loose curls I want.
I hate using product in my hair, so other than that, that's all I can help you with!!
