QuoteReplyTopic: Holdin Hair Down. I need to Know.. Posted: January 18 2007 at 7:09am
How you do this.
Simple answer is, Pomade, Lets JAM etc..
But I've tried these and not all of the hairs are held down after I put them in. For instance, some hairs will be stickin' up. I dont know why they are. I mean I've tried the Three-Six-Oh Method. Water, Towel, Pomade. Durag. But It seems my hairs aren't held down completly. Maybe I am not applying the pomade right, I do not know the severity to how melted it should be cos I can never rub it out completly, Especially sportin' Waves. <- that one seems impossible to rub out. So the hot towel approach I use to melt it down. Then comes the rubbing the product in the direction of my waves and brushing.. wetting durag and then keeping it on.
When I however keep my durag on and take it off my hair is all down flat. BUT you can hardly see the waves. Their like small skinny lines.. Until I brush them out again for a long time.
Shouldnt the ways just be their as I take off the durag and not appear so small and squashed down.. Waiting on arrival for me to brush them out again.
I dont know if you get what I 'm saying but do yall know why this is.
I have been doing this wave thing for about 1 and a 1/2 months now.
Before I go Bed Three Six Oh! Method/H2O meth/Soap Whatever.
Make hair absolutley Wet.
Du Rag/Wave Cap/Skull Cap combo.
Day
Take it all off, Brush Brush Brush, Moisterize also.
Wet hair once again.
Du Rag/Skull Combo Whilst Im Out and about.
I do have waves Ctown, But they nothing major, You seem em better after a long brushing session. But once I wash my hair. I got to brush hard to get 'em back in. I'm lookin' up to dat dude three six oh.. and jqrs standard. When I'm their.. it'll be official. Im giving it 5 Months or so, but hopefully with enough brushing and use of these methods. It should take shorter.
We'll see. I'll let you guys know.
Ps. Thanks for the inspiration.

So when these guys on here are saying Brush brush brush. Is it just on and off with the du rag covering after a brushing session. Cos Brushing does bring back up the loose hairs. Thats why I was thinking they must brush brush brush then du rag. I'm gonna try what you say and maybe through out the day do say an 1hrs brushing then du rag cover.. brushing then du rag cover.

my hair was the same exact way. but if you keep brushing, in the long run your hair will lay down by it self. I wear fitted caps every day (i have 32 of em lol) and even if i don't wear a du rag under it my hair will be fine and not all sticking up when i take it off. So like they said brush, brush, brush, and when you're not wear a du rag

This may sound crazy but when i my hair used to be stubborn and stick up, I'd wear a du rag for a while and give my hair time to stick up through it. after it does this, i'd get a facial shaver (gilette, schick quatro, etc) and rub it on the top of the du rag to cut them off. then when i take the du rag off, i wouldn't have any hairs sticking up. the only thing about this is that the blades would eventually cut holes in the durag but it was one of those thin ones (spartan). that's when i switched to King James Du Rags because they're stronger and feel better. But your hair should lay down on its own better after wolfing (7 weeks +), using CC and brushing. let me kno if ya have any questions about this.

ive been wolfin for a month right now...my hair was hard to hold down but i tried something i read. i dunno if its h2o or not but it works everytime even short notice. at ALL times of day i can do it anytime takes 30 minutes or so
all i do is run warm water all over my hair...brush for i dunno 30 seconds, throw on two wave caps....and walk away haha. i take it off whenever and that hair is DOWN man...i love it. its the only way i get my hair DOWN without pomade when its at this length.
360 comin, I beg to differ from your argument of brushing to keep hairs down. No matter how much you brush, Unless you do a covering method or your hair is extremley short can your hair be totally held down. Brushin helps it to go forward but I've noticed as my man three six oh says the double combo after h2O meth is the key. Ever since My hair has been held down with precision. I have also noticed my waves have had a vast improvement.
I really rate the Covering up Methods. And the medium brush. I rate that too.
