i cant believe i have lived my life w/o extensions!!! I had a full set (please forgive my ignorance and not knowing the correct terms) put in about 4 weeks ago. The hair cost $500. and I was told it was european...I dont know the brand but it is fused onto a plastic/rubber weft. The tape started breaking down almost immediatley, and long story short I had to remove myself and am now trying to figure out how to clean the weft.
Can I use LG with this sort of hair??? I would appreciate any help.
I am the kind of girl who will be doing my own extension for the rest of my life!!! Thanks for all the great information on this forum.

i'm guessing it's a 'skin weft' ?
and the weft part is still sticky?
i'd recommend the orange oil remover....i've had very good luck recently with GOO GONE (i buy it at wal mart in the cleaning products section)

i ordered some skin wefts a while back, and included with the hair was a small bottle of Vapon No Tape, so i'd say that LG would work to install too

definately if the hair is still in good shape then you can stick those suckers right back in!!! here's a link to some tutorials that can help with the sticking back in part:  http://hairextensions101.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13&sid=4ead32720e5c540ffdac466040e9be43&PHPSESSID=487f19e8aa68cbe759568a65da940364

i dont think i'd recommend it....i dont have any experience with putting acetone on them, but because they are plasticky (lol, is that a word?) i'd suspect that acetone could MELT them!
if there is a really stubborn spot, maybe a quick swipe with acetone and then rinse it off really quick but be careful!

I dont think I would use acetone either. Ive heard of some skin wefts breaking down from the acetone. You can use LG to glue them on...airflex (AKA protac) tape will work too.

I have used acetone on skin wefts to wipe them down, and most brands I bought were fine and did not melt, but one brand melted right down like putty!

The orange oil works well for getting the goo off, and then wipe down with 99% alcohol.

meinny, no I'm in Colo. It does sound the same...probably the same training or something. anyway, I bought some cheap hair to practice w/ and glued it in myself w/ LG and already am so much happier. I need to figure out how to get it cut nicely...I hope I dont have to do that myself as well..
Yeah, the tape basically started breaking down immediatly, and then I found this wonderful web site as well as hairextensions101 and I am on my way to extension diy heaven!!!
