Wefts with "shrinkies'?

Just wondering if anyone does this?
I would think that using shrinkies on the "outside" of the wefts to hold them in place better and prevent peeling might be useful?
Any ideas?

Like, one on each side.

You know a friend of mine and I were just discussing experimenting with trying this.. I don't know anyone who's done it, but we (my friend and I) were thinking that it would probably work best with hand tied wefts versus machine wefts to minimize bulk and weight..
 
I am gonna experiment with using shrinkies to add highlights to my wefted hair..
