Ah. Another bleaching/orange sob story.
Might as well get right to it. Yesterday, after many moons of wanting to be blonde, I bleached my faded out dark brown hair to a platinum/orange mess. Thinking I needed a toner, I went down to Sally's to get their opinion. The clerk said that it would look fine if I mixed the Miss Clairol 12R3 Blondest Strawberry (Level 9 Base Red/Orange) with the 29R Honey Red (Level 8 Base Red/Orange) to balance out the orange. As a complete n00b to blonde color, I thought this would be okay.
Wrong.
Now my hair is a weird, orange sideshow puff. My hair was dried out, but it's extremely resilient and felt okay after I used a cholesteral treatment. What can I do to get rid of the orangeyness and get a sandy blonde color?
Thank you all so much.

First off never really listen to many of the ladys at Sallys, they are not professionals they just work there. Also please be aware.. Unless you were aiming for a more red and yellow toned color you should of never ever mixed a strawberry blonde with honey red. Always use a natural toned color like.. "light blonde, medium blonde, dark blonde, light brown, medium brown, dark brown" on your hair. Do not use any inbetweens because these can cause color indifferences between the bleach processes. Be aware to use toner that is also violet or blue based. :)

Yes,I dont know why she told you strawberry blonde to get rid of orange color....she should have told you an ash blonde toner. When i bleached my hair I had the same problem. It was a light, but bright orange color. I used a medium or light ash blonde (just any store bought brand~nice and easy or Loreal I think) and it turned out fine. It was a little darker then I would have liked, but it wasnt orange. Then the following month I colored using a high lift ash blonde color and it was exactly how I wanted it. Good luck, and dont listen to those Sally's people anymore.
