I see a lot of heads complain about when they but a new brush it makes their hair stink/bristles not soft enuff/and lil stuff falling from tha brush in their hair....well what u do(I do anyway) after I open tha package and take out tha brush(luv that feeling) lol I first.....run some hot water.....put some shampoo on it(I have a seperate shampoo and conditioner just and only 4 my brush!)and thoroughly massage it in....then rinse it out.....(now u got a good ass smelling brush!!) to soften the bristles I then add a good amount of conditioner....massage it in.....rinse it out thoroughly(now I have softer bristles!!) just wanted 2 add this lil tidbit for my fellow wavers out there....hope this helps....I shampoo and condition my brushes(the ones in your "regular rotation") every week

Also the "softening bristles" part only works for the natural bristles....not tha plastic bristle joints

You wash and condition your brushes?  That's new to me.

I don't like to manipulate the rigidity of my brush bristles.  If I want soft bristles, I buy a soft brush.  Also, I rinse out my brushes as needed, but not to regularly, because it changes the bristle's texture and reduces its lifespan.

I haven't had any problems....I've been doing this for a yr......and it doesn't change the structure of ya brush.....the bristles form back into original shape.....but the bristles loosen up a bit....I like my brushes super soft....softer than the texture when I buy them.....
