hi misshair, unless the hair is virgin hair you will most likely damage the hair trying to lift/bleach the color up to blonde. You would be better off just purchasing blonde hair to start with.
i agree, going from black to blone on your own hair would be incredibly damaging even with virgin hair, most (but not all) extension hair has been processed in some way, at some point, so processing it to such a light shade would be awfully damaging and proably fry it completely. I'd pick up some blonde and if you can't use the black, sell it on e-bay or try to trade it with someone.

guys sorry i am actually trying to get a sort of orangey/ ginger colour (350) how do i do this, and if it means dyeing remy hair what is the best way to do this thanks for the previous replies.
I am on a very tight budget by the way and i will be using remy hair
ok, just because its 'remy' hair doesnt necessarily mean you can lighten it you'll need to test a piece with bleach to see if the color will budge (some extension hair is colored with fabric dye and wont react to hair coloring products)...if it's 'virgin remy' hair, then it can be successfully lightened
here's a link i found that i remember referencing to when i dabbled with coloring some extension hair...note where she refers to the 'going blonde' website..hopefully you find something helpful in there, and good luck!:
Yes-- some dark hair will NOT lift. Bohyme French Refined #2---tried to lift it to a level 4 or 5 with 30 volume developer and it just went darker! Good luck!
