QuoteReplyTopic: Hair Extensions only in My bangs?? Posted: May 31 2007 at 10:47am
Ok so i got my hair "trimmed" yesterday and i asked the lady not to cut my bangs. (you just don't mess with a girls bangs, right??) anyways, she finally talked me into letting her trim them because they were in desperate need of it. so, before i went to the salon my bangs were long enough to tuck behind my ears, and now i have these super short bangs that dont even reach my eyebrows. to top it all off my hair is super curly, so i can't straighten them flat enough to just lay on my forhead, they stick straight out!
to get to the point, is it possible for me to get hair extensions just in my bangs? i seriously cannot wear a hat for the next 6 months waiting for them to grow out. and do u think they will be super expensive? i dont have TONS of money to spend... thanks you guys!

No extensions will make your own hair longer unfornately, so you will still need to fiddle with your own bangs and do your best to straighten them so they blend in. But they should grow to a length where you can do that more easily fairly quickly. In the mean time you could try getting some velcro rollers (of various sizes so you can figure out what works best) so they get a more uniform look. I know being curly how frustrating it can be to get them to lay flat, so I'd add a heavier anti-frizz type serum to that section of your hair, see if weighing it down slightly can help flatten it out hope this all helps, let us know if you need any more help!
thanks for you help! gosh, i hate having curly hair sometimes. its just been one of those days... i tried clipping my bangs back but i have a huge forhead and it makes me super uncomfortable. i heard prenatal vitamins make your hair grow faster... does anyone know if thats true? and does anyone have any ideas how to style bangs so they look cute? you can see in my pic how they used to be. now they are pretty thick and short. ill send a pic of my hair now if anyone wants me to. i just dont know how to post pics on here. thanks again!

No vitamins can cause hair growth, but having a balanced diet and being healthy will allow your hair to grow at its optimal natural rate, if that makes sense. I wouldn't reccement going on any type of vitamin or supplement other than normal one-a-day types with out talking to a doctor first as there are risks involved- this is info comming right out of my dermatologists mouth too btw. prenatal vitamins do have ingredients that benefit the skin and hair, however for some people they contain dangersouly high levels of iron and other nutrients.
to be honest with ya, I'm growing out my bangs too - I had a bored day about 2 months back and cut them in, but was instantly sick of them. They're long enough now to sweep to the sides a bit or to be pulled back by a head-band, so I do that a lot. Judging from your pic I bet they look pretty good on you :)
to post pics you need a photobucket or other type of photo hosting website account. set one of those up and they should give you a code to post your photos in forums - easy to cut n paste it in. or if youre copying from a myspace page or somewhere else you already have photos posted, right click on the photo, and copy the photo location. then in the post use this code [ IMG] before the address and without the space and then [/ IMG] after, again with out a space in it.
I don't think they look bad at all! and you got a cute dog :) One thing I did think of was that sometimes I have an easier job straightening them using a blow-dryer and hitting them at the roots, rather than a flat iron.
thanks! i guess its just cuz i have never had bangs before. i have a naturally chubby face and the bangs made my face look super chubby. i called about getting extensions and the salon said it would run me about $100.00 which is a lot less than i had thought. the only problem is that she didnt know if she could put them in so other people wouldnt be able to see them. any sugestions on what type i should ask for? i'm in such a hurry to get them done because i'm going to see a lot of family and friends i havent seen in years.... it sounds vain but i dont want to look stupid... lol
