In April my hair was dyed to my natural color, a dark ash brown. In May I had my hair frosted. I liked it. In June I put a lightner on it. I am still liking my hair. In July I put a strawberry blonde color on my hair, it is not a permanent color. But when I wash my hair it feels like one huge hunk of matted hair. Conditioner allows me to comb it out. but I know it has that straw kinda look to it.
My natural color is a med to dark brown. And I color it routinely because of the gray.
The question is what can I use to get my hair back into a decent condition? I know it has got to be in better condition before I either but another lightner on it, or go back to brown again.
HELP!!! please.

When you color, only redo the roots with a permanent color, then use toners to keep your color fresh. It's not a good idea to change colors either, that will dry the hair out. Once hair is damaged, it's damaged, there is no way to get it back to it's original condition. Try getting some conditioners that have a lot of "cones" in them and leave them in for 30 min. Give your hair a break from coloring, if you can. Good luck and hope this helps.
i love netragen triple moisture hair mask(in the jar) leave it on for
like 10 mins and it will really help it. to me has lots of sillicones
that coat the hair and temp fill in the rough spots hence the smooth
shiny feel.
if 'cones' won't work with your hair i personally love nexxus humtress( found at supermarkets and walmarts now)
rebekah is soooo right...you are going to end up like me if you keep going...hair 6" shorter than i would ever wear my hair, feels terrible, blah blah blah....listen to eve and rebekah and then i have something to throw in the mix....my hair was FRIED!!!! what helped me is this stuff called Bonacure, it is made by schwartzkoph a brand that is excellent, top of the line-all that...get the shampoo for bleached hair and the conditioner, in one shampoo you should feel the diff. if you know a comsotologist who could get it for you at where they can shop you can save ALOT OF MONEY....if you don't know one, go to a beauty college because i found by accident that they carry top of the line products....you might also try redken soft. good luck but stop now with anything other than moisture moisture moisture.
no more coloring not for a long time! been there done that, listen to lovetocolor, me and her have both had simalar probblems that we are still battling to recover from( my hair has been like straw for 6 months now) best of luck to you!
yes Lord, eve is again right....we have some frightful stories about our obsession w/our hair....right eve?? man oh man, when ya really mess it up it is BAD, and i don't mean maybe....between the bonacure stuff and all the other things i have (a real science laboritory).....i just wish i could turn back time where my hair was a great color without all the damage i inflicted on myself. if you get the itch to color, post it...we'll help talk you out of it....your hair is going to break off at the scalp (not a good look) or at all different lengths.....good luck and keep us posted....you want to use some (not alot, it will dry out your hair) protein and then lots of moisturizing conditioners and leave in cond as well.....eve found that triple moisture made by neutrogena and then she uses nexxus humectress.....that sounds like a good combo.
netural protien filler (didn't we just go through this ltc?)
As state above use a small amount of protien then a good condtioner. You can get a netrual color protien filler from sally's and follow the directions on how to mix it's like 1 ounce to XX amount of water or condtioner. it will help fill the damaged spots on your hair shaft and the condtioner will add moisture
you could also look into nexxus emergence (but it is a bit pricey i paid 13 buck for a tinty little bottle) but i don't think you hair is in that bad of shape. the protien filler should work just fine plus its alot cheaper to!
hee hee, yes i believe we did eve.....my real name is lisa....that ltc is alot to type....and yes, we do need rehab.....you won't believe what i did yesterday.......ashamed to admit it.....but all is well.....but the chances i take....like someone going to a dangerous place to look for some crack.
